There are so many things which are unheard of. Recently I came to know there is this capability that you could Shutdown, hibernate or restart your machine with just a cell phone. Wow! sounds cool right?
I thought I could share it on my blog so that people here could benefit. It really is a simple process. Let's start.
The essential tools one would want in order to get this done is Gmail/Yahoo or any other
Now, there are some batch codes you need to set it up in order to make this process work. So I suggest you start of by:

1. open your note pad and write the codes below.

c:\windows\system32\shutdown -s -f -t 00

and save it as shutdown.bat

3. Now, Open up your Gmail. Here, one thing you need to make sure is that you have already configured it for your email. Now we will need to make it so that gmail checks your inbox about every minute (1 minute for testing time can be increased if a delayed shutdown is desired). You can do this by going to Tools: Options.

4. Then click the Mail Setup tab, and then, the Send/Receive button.

5. Make sure that the Schedule an automatic send/receive every box is checked, and set the number of minutes to 1. Now you may close all of these dialog boxes.

6. Now go to Tools: Rules and Alerts.Next click the options button in the upper right hand corner and press the Import Rules button.

7. Once done, select the shutdown.bat file which you created in Step 2.

8. Now, when you send a message from your phone to your e-mail address with the subject shutdown or smsshutdown%%, your computer should shutdown.
Try it yourself and let me know how I helped you in comments!
